With the growing elderly population in Japan and younger generations moving to the larger cities, unfortunately tea farming is a dying occupation in Japan. MATSU aims to support the local farmers by assisting in quality measures and pre booking harvests for the year. By pre booking harvests, it guarantees our farms that the matcha and teas will be harvested and sold which supports them financially. By supporting Matsu, you in turn are supporting our farmers to be substainable which allows local communities to flourish and enable them to continue their work and cultural lifestyle.

Quality Control
All Japanese matcha and tea leaves undergo steaming and various roasting processes and milling processes according to the finalised tea product.
All of our matcha goes through specialised mesh to ensure all particles are of the same micro size and ensures smoothness of each matcha. Our equipment can mill the raw tea leaves accordingly without losing the aromas and delicacy of the matcha.
Our tea leaves are inspected both visually by the human eye as well as via our high tech detecting equipment to ensure the quality of the teas is of high standard.
Our facilities currently produce over 500 MT of tea each year for both the domestic (Japan) and overseas markets.
